The Deanship of Scientific Research, in cooperation with the College of Agricultural Studies at Sudan University of Science and Technology, organized a scientific seminar titled

Analysis of the Chain of Corn and Millet Crops in Sudan

presented by Prof. Yasin Mohamed Ibrahim Dagash, professor, College of Agricultural studies, in the presence of Prof. Amal Omar Bakhit, Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, and a group of staff members, researchers and students.

Prof. Dagash explained that his analysis consisted of 96 pages in the form of an integrated research that was prepared by a large number of master and doctoral students under the supervision of the African Union in order to develop maize and millet cultivation in the region and said that the study aims in general to improve and develop millet crops cultivation and corn using modern and technological techniques and setting production policies that contribute to raising productivity and addressing the problems, obstacles and difficulties facing distribution, marketing and storage, and to support production opportunities and transform weaknesses into catalysts of strength, especially in the most productive areas and depend entirely on corn and millet in the east and west of the country.

Prof. Dagash also explained that the study focused on the stages that agriculture goes through in a coherent chain until the optimal distribution and marketing stage reaches, and between the research areas that have a gap locally and globally in terms of production, development of integrated solutions, forms of financing and appropriate production inputs, noting that they have submitted these recommendations to the African Union, which in turn, directed to circulate them to the agricultural extension agencies in the relevant countries to study, evaluate and develop policies according to the aforementioned data and information in proportion to the new and advanced production methods with high efficiency.
